Summary of Just Gareth

Once upon a time – 26th of February in the year of 2007 to be precise, Gareth Boyd created this very site and named it as “Just Gareth”.

At the very start I aimed for this to be a blog about personal things that happened in my day to day life, but after years off blogging about my life it came to my senses that no one cared. I still to this very day cannot figure out how some bloggers get a lot of subscribers through personal blogs, do their subscribers enjoy reading other peoples day to day lives or what? Anyhow I shortly changed to a more targeted niche, which was webmaster. What a bad choice. But what did I know at that stage!

I soon figured out I started blogging into no mans land. Let me go find you the right figure. Okay, there is 15 million sites out there under the search term “webmaster blog” on Google. I was competing against these 15 million odd blogs and half the time they were filled with utter bullocks, but sure.

Everything was going good, until some absolute prat decided to play a “prank” and load a virus within my content with fancy embedded tables. How kind, what a present! It happened to be around Christmas too.

Well basically it screwed everything up. Google started to ban my articles, I had to get my host to scan through my pages and take out the bullocks that was embedded. Smart boys those hackers were, but anyhow I eventually got it all down and basically thought I’m gonna get rid of this blog (although I didn’t) and just take a chill biscuit for a while.

Only recently after I got a job, I then decided to take this blog on and get back my 200 subscribers I had at a time and multiply that. Get this blog bigger and achieve better things than I had done before. So if you would like to subscribe and help out for a better cause, please do! 2010 – present

Just Gareth is still under the ownership of Gareth Boyd and has now got two team members. We now offer design, blogging and SEO to our customers, so if you are interested take a look through our blog.

I got into web developing a few years ago at the hands of an old eMachine. Never been the same since. Over the years I have owned far too many websites and made a decent amount of money on the side from the internet.

At a stage I was just building websites for fun, then I began to think about monetizing them thanks to my brother Andrew - he was my biggest influence. Seeing him make money off the internet was amazing and the way you have to challenge yourself on competing, marketing and the likes.

Then after deciding to monetize I was then persuaded by yet again Andrew to get into blogging. At first I thought theres no point. Now looking back, I only wish I had started it earlier. Its an addiction which I love.
