Promote your sites with MySpace Posted by Gareth on January 29th, 2008

Every single webmaster wants to target their audience easily and for one thing MySpace is the easiest way to target large amounts of a certain topic. For example a TV show, you find the group, you post around the group with your links on it and easily enough people visit your site. At the end of the day if they don’t register to your product, at least you got extra visitors.

Ok, now your dead keen to get going and telling everyone in MySpace about your site, right? Well slow down there cowboy, your nowhere near ready to get going because you have to go through some vital steps of MySpace promoting.

1. How big is your MySpace account? If its anything below 100 go out and add a few more friends, but whatever you do don’t buy an account.

2. If you buy an account you are wasting potential money you could put forward to putting into extra promotion elsewhere. Plus its quite easy adding your own friends. All you gotta do is…

3. Get a hot chick as your profile picture and say a load of balls about yourself. I did it and it appeared to work, so from then on I have been doing that.

4. Make sure you make the comments, bulletins or links on your profile fit in, so people won’t report you to Tom. It happened to me and you get into a lot of trouble, but make sure its a text link that fits with what your saying.

Bulletins or Comments?
I recommend you use comments because a lot of people know now that people spam the heck off bulletins. Every person on MySpace love getting comments, percentage of them are probably waking up in the morning running the the computer to check their latest comments.

Image promoting or text?
Really does depend on what the image says, I have tried promoting some of my sites by stupid images and linking off to one of my joke sites, but it doesn’t really work unless they actually click on the image. I’d advise text for first timers and see how it goes from there.

Overall I must say MySpace is an amazing place to promote as you can really target the groups of people from webmasters, nerds, teens and mothers etc. Give it ago, if it doesn’t workout you didn’t waste any money, like I advised not to buy an acccount!
